Cherie Enge is a Senior Associate with Kennedy & Souza. Her practice focuses primarily on general liability, including high-exposure personal injury/bodily injury and wrongful death cases and multi-party, multi-discipline complex construction defect litigation. She has wide ranging litigation experience over the course of her 30 years in practice in all phases of civil litigation, including discovery, pre-trial and trial and ADR. She has taken, defended and participated in over 2000 depositions and has tried 70 cases to jury verdict in the Southern California state courts.  The majority of the trials resulted in either complete defense verdicts or with judgments in favor of the defense after costs were awarded.  Ms. Enge has successfully resolved matters thorough early mediation or arbitration, often saving clients from potential excess or personal exposure.  When time permits, Ms. Enge serves as a pro tem judge for small claims and traffic courts in San Diego, and as an invited speaker/lecturer for local and national legal organizations.

Ms. Enge has extensive experience supervising associates and interns. She managed a team of attorneys and support staff while employed as claim litigation counsel with a major insurance company.  Most recently Ms. Enge managed a solo practice for approximately 7 years.

Ms. Enge attended the University of Southern California and University of California San Diego prior to earning her J.D. in 1987 from the University Of California Hastings College Of Law in San Francisco.  Ms. Enge was very active serving as President of the Black Law  Student Association, a representative on its regional association, the Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition and as an extern for the .  Ms. Enge also interned with the Tenderloin Housing Clinic and the California Court of Appeal, First Appellate District.  She is admitted to practice in California and Colorado, and was most recently admitted to the United States Supreme Court in 2013.

Ms. Enge currently serves on the Board of Directors for Walden Family Services and a Master with the Wallace Inn of Court.  In her free time, Ms. Enge enjoys traveling, attending college sporting events, tennis, hiking and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
