Mr. Millar’s practice involves litigation and insurance coverage analysis of complex real estate matters primarily concerned with land use, construction, development, permitting, condemnation,  boundaries, broker liability, contractor licensing, landlord/tenant and collection issues.  Mr. Millar has represented clients in both state and federal court, including significant involvement in numerous federal and state class action matters.  He has mediated, arbitrated and/or tried over 75 matters, including first or second chairing over 40 trials, at least 30 of which were to juries.  In addition to his trial experience,  Mr. Millar emphasizes and counsels his business clients on such matters as business formation, employee/employer relations, insurance coverage and alternative dispute resolution techniques to attempt to prevent costly, high risk litigation.

Mr. Millar graduated from the University of Dayton, Ohio in 1986 with a B.S. in criminal justice. In May 1991, he received his J.D., with honors, from Western State University College of Law, where he was named to the National Dean’s List, Law Review and Moot Court.  He was admitted to the California State Bar in December 1991.  He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association.  He was a member of the Executive Committee of the Solo and Small Firm Section of the State Bar from 1996 to 2002, serving as Newsletter Editor in 1997-1999, Vice Chair in 1999, Chair 2000-01 and currently is an Advisor to the Section.

Lead attorney on 8 appeals/writs; obtained judgments after trial and arbitration totaling over $10,000,000, as well as defending scores of real estate, business and employment litigation matters and has participated in 8 State and Nationwide Class Actions involving settlements for cash and/or benefits totaling over $350,000,000 for consumers.
