Kevin P. Kennedy is a co-founding partner of Kennedy and Souza. Kevin has been voted one of San Diego’s Top Attorneys, and was selected by Worldwide Registry to be featured among his peers as one of the Top Attorneys in the country. He also holds the Martindale-Hubbell Preeminent “AV” rating.

Mr. Kennedy has concentrated his efforts in the areas of insurance defense, including catastrophic personal injury, advertising, real estate, contracts, toxic tort, products liability, insurance coverage, bad faith and fraud, as well as, construction defect litigation, ocip/wrap, business litigation, real estate transactions, family law, construction site injury, and landlord/tenant. He also specializes in providing legal counsel to construction companies, contractors, subcontractors, real estate developers, and insurers.
Mr. Kennedy also cares about and is an active member of the local community. He has dedicated substantial time to providing pro bono legal services to the less fortunate, volunteers his time to assist local law students in their education, and has spoken at seminars relating to insurance defense issues including aggressive defense strategies. He gives back to the community by way of supporting several local charitable groups, including, but not limited to, St. Vincent de Paul.
Kevin was born and raised in San Diego, California, the son of a Superior Court Judge. Mr. Kennedy received a Juris Doctorate, cum laude in 1991. He graduated 2nd in his class and was awarded an Academic Achievement Scholarship. Over the last 29 years, Kevin has tried numerous cases throughout California. He has extensive experience in defending individuals, subcontractors, general contractors, businesses, landlords, and product manufacturers in various construction, landlord/tenant disputes, occupational injury, personal injury and construction defect litigation. He has also represented domestic insurers in coverage and bad faith claims and litigation.
When Kevin is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife, and four children. He brings those family values into this law firm and represents his clients handling their various matters with the highest level of integrity and strict ethical standards. Kevin’s experience on all aspects of the litigation process helps him to view complex issues from all perspectives in order to assist the client in developing the most effective resolution strategy.
